Based on the scissors-shaped chair that symbolized power in the ancient world, the Barcelona Chairis design dedicatd to the Spanish Royalty. in honour of the 1929 official opening of the German Pavilion at the Barcelona International Exibitions. With superb craftmanship, individual tabbed squares of leather are cut from a single hide and sewn, welted and tufted by hand using the capitonne technique to create maximum volume and depth. The sheen and luster of the thick, supple full-grain leather is further enhanced by the cushions' precise tufting. Heavy saddle leather is used for the chair and ottoman's straps, ensuring durability and support.
