It was a revolution of form, an exciting visual language that signaled a new age and a fresh start--and two of its prime movers were Charles and Ray Eames. THe Eameses were a husband and wife team whose unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniutre. Lean and modern. Sleek, sophisticated and simple. Beautiful functional.
In the early 1940s, when Charles Eames was working on MGM set designs, he would return to the small apartment where he and his wife, Ray--using thin sheets of wood veneer and bicycle pumps as compressors--were exoerimenting with wood-molding techniques that would have profound effects on the world of design. Desifned to fit the contours of the human body, this inspired DCM chair is comfortable, practical and lightweight.
Our reproduction's DCM is molded by 5 ply seat and back; stainless steel legs and back brace.
